Founder of the company was Lazzaro Rossi, father of Galiano and Oscar. He started working back in 1940 as a blacksmith and gradually became one of Riccione's best known and most appreciated craftsmen.
As the years passed, "workshop" activities centred on farming. The world's very first reaper-binder saw the light (patent recognised as being unique) as did other farming machinery.
Around 1960, the "workshop" was registered at the Chamber of Commerce and took the name of "Officina Meccanica LAZZARO ROSSI & Figlio". Later on, the boys Galiano and Oscar joined the firm, bringing with them resources of intuition and skill and directing the company along the road to waste collection and disposal machinery manufacture.
In the 70s, the firm began concentrating its efforts on the production of refuse collection machinery, patenting the first waste transport unit mounted on an Ape Piaggio 3-wheel vehicle. This consisted in a container driven by two single-section hydraulic cylinders. After years of experience in the industry, the company's range of products has increased and now includes much larger vehicles. In 1980, the world's first mini-compactor was designed and made (R 108), mounted on a small Iveco Daily van type chassis. This new patent enabled the company to launch out into the urban hygiene industry and become one of Italy's major concerns in this particular sector.
Meanwhile, the company went on growing and changed its headquarters and its name to OLEODINAMICA di ROSSI GALIANO & C. S.n.c.

In 1986, the first "mini compactor KR2000" was made. This was mounted on a 10 t. vehicle and embodied the same defining feature as all company products - the possibility of unloading into large self-compactors.
In 1992, the company underwent yet another change and from an S.n.c. (non-trading partnership) was made into an S.r.l. (limited-liability company), the present ROSSI OLEODINAMICA S.r.l.
In 1996, production started of the KRM2000, based on the "older" KR2000 - only the size and carrying capacity changed.

The last piece of equipment to be designed and patented is the R25, presented for the first time at Sep Pollution 1998 in Padua. This device incorporates a new integrated system for smoother pre-sorted waste collection.
Since it was founded, the company has made over 6,000 pieces of equipment mounted on a range of different vehicle chasses. Company growth over recent years has resulted in its becoming an official associate of Piaggio and selling its product to major private and state concerns in the industry, throughout Italy.

ROSSI machinery is also sold in Spain, France, Greece, Croatia and Macedonia on a regular basis and the firm is currently expanding into other countries as well.
At present, all production is made in accordance with EC provisions, using the most advanced technological means. This translates into concrete growth for the company. The labour force totals 30 in-house staff and the cooperation of numerous external firms that make machine parts. Current turnover touches about 5.500.000,00 €.
In 2003 has been got ISO quality trademark, that it has carried an ulterior level of quality to the company and consequently to our products.

The company is managed by the brothers Oscar and Galiano Rossi. The former is in charge of sales and the latter of production.
